Kelly Fryer will explore the “All Anew” theme through Bible study. Kelly Fryer is at her best in the middle of a situation that needs renewal. After 15 years leading turn-around congregations, Kelly helped launch the mission and leadership program at Luther Seminary, where she served as an assistant professor. She has written more than a dozen books on the topic of mission and leadership, including Reclaiming the L Word: Renewing the Church from its Lutheran Core. From 2002-2012, Kelly and her partners at A Renewal Enterprise (ARE) did strategic visioning and leadership development with faith-based organizations across the U.S. and Canada. In 2010, a national boycott of Arizona was heating up in response to the passage of an anti-immigrant law known as SB1070. Drawn to a place so clearly in need of reform and renewal, Kelly moved to Tucson. Today she is CEO of YWCA Southern Arizona, a growing 100-year old organization that is leading the fight for economic and social justice in that community.
