Brenda Myers-Powell is co-founder and executive director of the Dreamcatcher Foundation. Born in Chicago, Brenda is a survivor of sexual abuse, drugs and prostitution. Through her work, she delivers high-energy messages that help people break the chains of oppression. Brenda, whose mother died when she was an infant, faced abuse at the hands of trusted family members. At 14, she escaped her abusive home and fell into prostitution. Her experience as a runaway teenager and survivor makes her an advocate to young girls. Brenda’s passion is to help young women avoid the trauma she experienced in her 25 years as a teenage and adult prostitute.
